's work "Towards destination" candidate Combat Prize 2013, relating to the series of works that the artist titled "Cycle of Death," works created specially for the exhibition of dOCUMENTA 13 in Kassel.'s work in competition is the final state of death, before the body becomes immortal. This work marks a decisive step in his artistic production, in fact Mohsen metaphorically compares with the work of the astronomer and of the thirteenth century Persian philosopher Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi.'s death is no longer seen as the end of everything, but as the essence of continuity with life.'s work "Towards destination" is material. Or made of the same elements of which the artist reflects: the desert sand that wraps the body in the grave, but that is also the "dust" which becomes itself after death, and the canvas that wraps wraps, but at the same time it is also the shroud.
's three works in support of the nomination are related to three different themes investigated by the artist in the last years of research.'s first work, entitled "Memory of a generation" (watercolor polychromatic) is made with the technique of 'aquatint on paper Koran. Here the colors relate directly to two factors: on the one hand with the concepts of the reading of the sacred text, and on the other, with the theme of reality in which the artist lives, or what Taasha defines "truth." Transparency of the color represents the "human vitreità" devoid of meaning within which lurk many men.
's second work, entitled "The Red Curtain" is rather surreal relating to the themes that the artist evokes through 'juxtaposition of religious symbols, colors and mystical coming of ethnic Hazara. This series also includes the opera "Kochi", Mohsen Taasha work with which he won the first prize of the Afghan Contemporary Art Prize in 2010. The third and last work entitled "The Reddish Essence" is instead part of the series "Red", a series of five works inspired by their ethnic roots. Red is symbolic of the blood shed over the years into fights and feuds between the various Afghan tribes for supremacy in the country. In these works combine different symbols Hazara such as jewelery, spirituality, labor craft-production and finally the strong presence of the eye of knowledge.
